Is there a system that lets teens under 18 get an auto loan. I'm currently 17 and looking to take out an auto loan, help please. Thanks
And what is the coborrower responsible for? And who loans me |

no, because you are not legally able to enter into contracts. any contract you sign would be voidable because you're a minor and no lending institution would touch it.

A loan is a contract. A contract is void if the contractee is under the age of 18. The answer is no. You cannot legally enter into a contract until you are 18. Also, you should really think about saving up money and buying a used car outright. Why?? Because the amount of depreciation when you drive off of the lot and the snowball effect of debt.....Stay away from debt, you don't need it. A good financial advisor would tell you this......hint hint!

Basically, you can get a loan only if there's a co-signer who's over 18. Their responsibility is nothing as long as you pay the payments on the loan. However, if you were to stop making payments, the cosigner would then be responsible to make payments on the loan. It's easier if it's your parents as they're more reliable than a girlfriend/boyfriend, guardian, etc.
You'd get the loan from a bank, or the car dealership. Dealerships usually offer lower rates than banks-as they get incentives from the manufacturer. |

I am a finance manager at a car dealership and I go through the local credit union to arrange financing for minors with a co-signer. The co-signer will be responsible for the debt if you default on the loan. But yes, it is possible! Good luck!

No, and I believe (not sure) you can't even be on the title unless it's paid off.
