it's most likely is.how much is on line 74?is the check the same as on line 74?how much did you pay in federal taxes if it was more than 300.00 but less than 600.00 you got back what you paid in taxes.

Stimulus payments in the form of a check started to be mailed out on May 16th, 08
The schedule for mailing checks is based on the last 2 digits of your social security number & can be found here http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.html |

Sounds more like that's your refund rather than your stimulus check. The stimulus check is likely to be line 57 plus 52, with a minimum of $300 and maximum of $600 if it's not a joint return (or $600/$1200 on a joint return) plus $300 for each dependent child under age 17.

You said the amount of the check equals the amount of your refund, as shown on your 1040, but you don't say whether or not you have already received your refund.
If you were still waiting for your refund, and then you get a check that's for the exact amount of your refund ... then guess what? The check you got is probably your refund! Did you use the calculator on the IRS Web site to figure out how much your stimulus rebate was going to be? Did you check the schedule on the IRS Web site to find out when you could expect your rebate? If you do those two things, I'll bet you will know whether or not the check you just got was your refund or your rebate. |

Your stimulus check is a separate check from your refund check. The stimulus check will be either $600, $1200 or more, maybe even only $300, depends on your tax situation for 2007. The stimulus check will be in the mail from May 16th to the end of July 2008.
