usually the point of using craigslist over ebay is that the person you are selling to is local so therefore you can meet them in person to exchange the item and money

I second that... Craiglist is to sell to your neighbors if you want to sell to someone outside of your city you should use ebay... As far as taking money i would only take cash,,,, there are too many scams with checks on craigslist....

If they are local, have them bring cash.If you ship it to them, Have them pay through Pay Pal. That is the best way. Depending on the size, ship it UPS or FEDX. If it is really big call a freight line and get a price on shipping by truck. Good day.

If the item is pretty big, I would recommend selling locally. UPS does accept pretty large packages, and they can do a pick up if its a hassle for you to get to a UPS store. If you decide to ship, you can accept money order from the post office or paypal. If you accept a money order, make sure you take it down to the post office and CASH it. Don't deposit it into your bank account, you wont know if its any good until after its too late. If you take it directly to the post office, they will cash it if its real. If you decide to use paypal, make sure you ship it to the address paypal has for that user. Don't ship it anywhere else...It doesn't matter what excuse they give you. If they cant have it delivered to the address that paypal has, then they cant use paypal.
